The Kwithu Women’s Cooperative in Mzuzu Malawi
The Kwithu Women’s Cooperative in Mzuzu Malawi has built a community center with a crafts room for a knitting machine and several sewing machines. The women's goal is to generate enough income to feed around 200 local orphans hot meals three times a week. There is a container heading to Mzuzu Malawi soon and Meredith Brokaw, who has recently returned from canning tomatoes with the inspiring women of the Kwithu Women's Cooperative, has asked Katonah Yarn to serve as a drop off point for yarn donations. She will deliver all yarn collected to the container by June 11.

Brave New Knits
The Brave New Knits trunk show and book signing was a lot of fun. Julie Turjoman brought a great selection of samples from the book so we got a chance to see how the patterns looked finished and how they fit.
Don't forget that along with our new Monday store hours comes a full set of new classes including Learn How to Knit or Crochet.

Up and Running
Thank you all so much for your patience as we closed the shop for a day to do inventory and get our new sales system up and running. Everything is counted and almost everything is labeled. The store is open, the new computer is in place and we welcome you to come on in and knit with us!
May classes have started, and for those of you looking for a one or two-session weekend class, check out our list of May workshops.
